MY PLANS

Let’s take a look at your plan options.

FAQ

Questions?

We get it – health insurance isn’t exactly the easiest topic to navigate. We’ve got you covered! Here are the answers to some of our most commonly asked questions:

What are the coverage differences for each plan and why do they have different costs?

League & Element Fleet are excited to offer three different health insurance plan offerings that allow you to make the best decision for you and your family. These three plans provide greater flexibility in allowing you to choose what you need from your health insurance. Each plan offers different amounts of coverage, but each plan can be utilized to make the most of your coverage.

Flexible offers the least amount of insurance coverage through Desjardins but the most amount of flexibility. This option includes $1,500 (single)/$2,400 (couple)/$3,200 (family) in spending account funds for you to allocate towards a Health Spending Account (HSA) or Lifestyle Spending Account (LSA).

Hybrid offers 70% coverage with Desjardins on coverage lines including drug, mental health and dental, and 100% coverage for $200 every 2 years for vision. Additionally, Option 2 includes $500 (single)/$900 (couple)/$1,300 (family) in spending account funds to allocate towards a Health Spending Account (HSA) or Lifestyle Spending Account (LSA). You can take advantage of the Health Spending Account (HSA) funds to pay for claim amounts not already covered by Desjardins.

Comprehensive offers the highest amount of medical and dental coverage with Desjardins, and therefore has a cost associated with it (premium paid through a payroll deduction). This plan includes 90% coverage on lines including drug, paramedical, mental health and dental, and 100% coverage for $300 every 2 years for vision. You don’t receive any spending account allocations funds with this plan.

As you can see, each plan is different, just like you and your needs. There are many things to take into consideration when selecting a plan. If you have any questions about plan selection, reach out to help@league.com.

When can I change my plan elections outside of this enrollment time period?

The only time you can change your health insurance coverage is when you experience a Qualifying Life Event like getting married or adding a mini-me to your family!

What is a spending account allocation?

A spending account allocation represents funds that your receive when you choose option 1 or option 2. You can choose to allocate your spending account allocation between a Health Spending Account or a Lifestyle Spending Account as you wish. Note that you can allocate a maximum of $500 towards your Lifestyle Spending Account in any given year.

What is a Health Spending Account and what can I use it for?

A Health Spending Account (HSA) is a benefit you access through the League portal. Funds are allocated to this account depending on the benefit plan option you choose and if you’re single, a couple, or have a family. You can use these funds to make up the difference between what your health plan covers and what you pay out-of-pocket for your health or dental claims.  HSA’s are administered in accordance with Canada Revenue Agency guidelines. Money spent from this account is tax-exempt!

What is a Lifestyle Spending Account and what can I use it for?

A Lifestyle Spending Account (LSA) covers services and products you can access to live a healthier life, such as gym memberships, yoga and meditation, etc. Money spent from this account is a taxable benefit. You’ll only get taxed on the funds you actually use. League is the administrator of your LSA (instead of an insurance carrier) meaning that all claims are submitted directly through your League app.

How much do I pay for these plans and how much is covered by my company?

Your employer will cover the full cost of the annual premiums for options 1 and 2. You will need to contribute towards the cost of option 3 through payroll deductions.

When can I see my payroll deductions?

You can see all the payroll deductions while you are making your elections during the League enrollment experience. Once you’ve submitted your elections, you’ll see your total payroll deductions based on the elections you’ve made.
