MY PLANS

Let’s take a look at your plan options.

You still have the same three plan options, so it’s a good opportunity to reflect and see if the plan you chose for this past year has worked for you (and your loved ones). Remember, if you are happy with your plan from last year, you do not need to re-enroll! Part-Time employees can view their guide here.

FAQ

Questions?

We get it – health insurance isn’t exactly the easiest topic to navigate. We’ve got you covered! Here are the answers to some of our most commonly asked questions:

I liked my plan from last year. Do I need to re-enroll?

You can choose to do nothing and have your plan roll over! Your plan details have remained the same.
If you are enrolled in optional coverage, like extra life insurance, you need to re-enroll in order to maintain that coverage in the next plan year.

What’s new this year?

Flexible Spending Accounts: For the 2023-2024 plan year, Lushies enrolling in the Lavender or Rose plans will be able to choose how their eligible funds are divided between the two League spending accounts: the Health Spending Account (HSA) or Lifestyle Spending Account (LSA).

Vision Benefit: The benefit maximum for both the Rose and Neroli plans is increasing to $500 per plan member (plus dependents!) effective July 1st. This means you are eligible to be reimbursed for $500 worth of eligible vision expenses every 2 years.

Gender Affirmation Benefit: Your Desjardins medical plan now provides you with coverage for a number of gender affirmation treatments and surgeries. Lush employees are eligible for $10,000 of coverage per lifetime.

PocketPills: Canada’s best online pharmacy that allows you to conveniently order online, refill, or consult with an online pharmacist and offers free delivery anywhere in Canada. Signing up is quick and easy and they do all the legwork for you (transfer prescriptions, order on the same day, coordinate with insurer to help cover cost). All Lushies are eligible to sign-up starting in July. Visit www.pocketpills.com

What are the coverage differences for each plan and why do they have different costs?

League & Lush are excited to continue to offer three different health insurance plan offerings that allow you to make the best decision for you and your family. These three plans provide greater flexibility in allowing you to choose what you need from your health insurance. Each plan offers different amounts of coverage, but each plan can be utilized to make the most of your coverage.

The Neroli plan offers the highest amount of coverage with Desjardins, and therefore has the highest premiums (cost). The coverage type options are single, or family. You don’t receive any Health or Lifestyle Spending Account funds with this plan.

The Rose plan offers 80% coverage with Desjardins on coverage lines including drug, dental, paramedical, and mental health, and 100% coverage for $500 every 2 years for vision. Additionally, the Rose Plan with family coverage includes $300 (single)/$500 (family) Flexible Spending Account funds (allocated quarterly) with League. Spending Accounts empower you with flexibility to use your coverage on your unique health expenses.

The Lavender plan offers the lowest monthly premiums (costs), which means less insurance coverage through Desjardins. However, with the Lavender plan, you’ll receive $800 (single)/$1600 (family) in Flexible Spending Account funds to use for any eligible medical or lifestyle expenses.

The Rose & Lavender plans offer some flexibility, while still offering you plenty of coverage with Desjardins. As you can see, each plan is different, just like you and your needs. There are many things to take into consideration when selecting a plan. If you have any questions about plan selection, reach out to help@league.com.

When can I change my plan elections outside of this enrollment time period?

The only time you can change your health insurance coverage is when you experience a Qualifying Life Event like getting married or adding a mini-me to your family!

What is a Health Spending Account? Lifestyle Spending Account?

Health Spending Accounts (HSA) are administered in accordance with Canada Revenue Agency guidelines, and provide reimbursement for a wide range of medical expenses, over and above regular benefit plans. There is a quick video on LUSH U that walks through HSA’s at Lush for your reference as well.

Lifestyle Spending Accounts (LSA) cover services and products you can access to live a healthier life, such as gym memberships, yoga and meditation, etc. Money spent from this account is a taxable benefit. You’ll only get taxed on the funds you actually use. League is the administrator of your LSA (instead of an insurance carrier) meaning that all claims are submitted directly through your League app. Full time employees can allocate up to $250 of their annual Flexible Spending Account dollars to their LSA.

Review the Coverage Summary during enrollment to see full lists of eligible expenses under each account.

How much do I pay for these plans and how much is covered by my company?

Your employer will cover 70% of the annual premiums for the Neroli plan, 75% of the annual premiums for the Rose plan, and 80% of the annual premiums for the Lavender plan.

Therefore, you’ll be paying 30% of the annual premiums for the Neroli plan, 25% of the annual premiums for the Rose plan, and 20% of the annual premiums for the Lavender plan.

When can I see my payroll deductions?

You can see all the payroll deductions while in the enrollment experience making your elections. Once you’ve submitted your elections, you’ll be able to see all your payroll deductions based on the elections you’ve made.

Can I opt out of Health and only get Dental?

Your enrollment in Health and Dental insurance must be the same; employees must enroll in both or neither.

While Health and Dental are mandatory benefits, you can opt out of them by providing proof of alternate coverage when you are completing your enrollment.

Can I opt out of all Lush Benefits?

The following benefits are mandatory, with no opt out, and paid 100% by Lush: Life, Dependent Life, Accident, STD, and EAP. Additionally, the following benefits are mandatory, with no opt out, and employee paid: LTD Core.

How do I know if my mental health provider is covered?

You can contact League’s Customer Care team with this type of question, either via chat through the League app or by email at help@league.com.

Lushies can also contact Desjardins directly at: https://www.desjardinslifeinsurance.com/en/contact-us.
